It didn't take long then, before the town saw it's first jazz club open, such as this one, "The 1912", which didn't actually open in 1912. though many people (especially tourists) mistakenly seem to think so. Nowadays it serves as an exclusive lounge which is the place to be if you want a more relaxed and high class atmosphere, and possibly meet one of the local celebrities.
For its small size, the town has quite the nighlife, or so they say.. another example of a more modern place to hangout after dark is this Dafooney! Wahey!, a fusion lounge where local up and coming and more established artists/bands gets a stage to show off their music. There is quite the music scene in the town too which over the years have fostered several of the nations most well-known, if not always beloved, artists...
If playing a musical instrument or live music isn't your thing, but you're convinced that your moves are the hottest in town, then perhaps "The Century Fish" will is just the spot for you. The name plays on the fact that fisheries and the fishing industry has long been the most important source of income for the Bewickton community. And also, the big aquarium seperating rooms on the second floor. If you want to party hard and dance the night away, this disco is the place for you!
Now, partying the night away isn't the only thing to do in town, there is also the possibility of finding some food for thought as the town also has it's own little college giving the islanders living out here the opportunity to attend university level courses! It is not a stand alone college, though, but a joint cooperation with the mainland university in Cyme Ixotic. The red brick building on the picture is the local college adminstration building.
Of course a college town wouldn't be complete without a proper student house of culture, so.. During the late 1980s the town and the college built this.. The Student House of Culture as a place for the students to hang out. The Student House of Culture was designed by art and architecture student Marcus Claudius Eschenburg and can be a little maze like, but inside here you can (hopefully..) find evertthing a student would need to kick back and relax. Take a dip in the basement jacuzzi, go bowling, have a quiet lunch in the cafeteria, play some video games or enjoy a drink and a dance in the top floor bar!
Some residential buildings
Lot name: Outwash Point.
Description: If you want to live in contact with the elements, this is the home for you! Situated on the far northern edge of Bewickton, there is literally nothing between you and the ocean when the harsh winter storms come rolling in... If you want to live here, being handy to repair things on the house itself in case something should loosen and fall off, and not be a scaredy-cat will probably be beneficial for you. As you see, there is no basement here to hide in... Currently this house is the home of the Østreng family (to be introduced later).
Lot name: Squarepoint Apartments.
Description:
Just your average simple apartment building. There are a total of 7
apartments in this building, each with its own parking space.
Lot name: The Party House.
Lot description:
This lot is the home of a group of party
hard young adults, perfectly equipped with their own bar and dance
area, a jacuzzi and enough toilets for the entire town. Happy neighbours
not guaranteed. And someone forgot to close the front door...
More to come later... as I will take a look at some of the people that have found their residence in this town as well.. ;) Toodeloo! :P
